From the Brothers Grimm: Fairy Tales with Appalachian Flavor
Join us for this film series featuring award-winning filmmaker Tom Davenport’s From the Brothers Grimm tales. These classic Grimm Brothers tales have been adapted to Appalachian settings. We’ll watch and discuss each film. Some content may by violent or upsetting to younger viewers. Recommended for ages 10 and up.
4th Mondays January through April, 6:00 – 8:00 pm
January 24: “The Frog King” and “Mutzmag: An Appalachian Folktale”
February 28: “Soldier Jack” and “Jack and The Dentist’s Daughter”
March 28: “Willa: An American Snow White”
April 25: “Rapunzel, Rapunzel”, “Bearskin”, “The Goose Girl”, and “Hansel & Gretel”
