Welcome to Friends of the Transylvania County Library!

Friends Support the Library

The mission of the Friends of the Library is to enhance and support library services by underwriting interesting and entertaining programs throughout the year – from children’s summer reading and local history programs, to music concerts and special bag lunch events. Money raised by the Friends enriches our community in many ways.

A significant portion of the funds raised by the Friends is generated through sales at The Second Story Book Store and during the group’s Annual Book Sale each October. Additionally, the Friends sell books on Amazon.  Your book donations make these possible.  These income streams bring in the money needed to fund all library programs for all ages.

  • The Friends are currently accepting donations of gently used books, DVDs, and jigsaw puzzles on Mondays, from 10:00AM – 12:00PM, in the library foyer.

At the Library Newsletter

Friends members receive the bi-monthly newsletter, At the Library, that is loaded with information about up-coming events and includes full calendars of special programs for kids, teens and adults.
