Sponsored by NC Cooperative Extension and the Transylvania County Library, Living in the Mountains is a five-part educational series exploring the unique challenges and opportunities of living in the mountains of Western North Carolina.
Part One: Understanding Wells & Septic Systems
Transylvania County Environmental Health will deliver a presentation on septic tank systems and drinking water wells including a quick guide to help folks understand their basic functions and maintenance requirements. This information may be especially important to those who have been served by a municipal sewer system and/or public water system in the past. Bring your questions and we’ll sort through the myths and urban legends to provide you with the most up-to-date information on file.
We hope you’ll join us for the remainder of the series:
- Part 2: Radon Mitigation • January 22 at 12:00 pm
- Part 3: Erosion Control for Your Landscape • January 29 at 12:00 pm
- Part 4: Identifying & Managing Invasive Species • February 5 at 12:00 pm
- Part 5: Recreation for Older Adults • February 12 at 12:00 pm
These events will take place in the Library’s Rogow Room.
