Jason Harpe, Historic Preservation Consultant, will outline some of the basic principles that individuals, families, historical societies and municipalities should consider when approaching any type of cemetery preservation. He will provide some brief case studies on a variety of projects in which he has been involved over the years, as well as share photographs of proper and improper conservation.Whether you are looking for tips on how to clean or repair an ancestors headstone or information on undertaking a cemetery inventory this free presentation is a good starting place for cemetery board members and individuals to learn more about the care and preservation of cemeteries.
Harpe is the director of the Lincoln County Historical Association and the author of several books on Lincoln County, NC history.
