DESCRIPTION:Jason Harpe\, Historic Preservation Consultant\, will outline some of the basic principles that individuals\, families\, historical societies and municipalities should consider when approaching any type of cemetery preservation.  He will provide some brief case studies on a variety of projects in which he has been involved over the years\, as well as share photographs of proper and improper conservation.Whether you are looking for tips on how to clean or repair an ancestor’s headstone or information on undertaking a cemetery inventory this free presentation is a good starting place for cemetery board members and individuals to learn more about the care and preservation of cemeteries.\nHarpe is the director of the Lincoln County Historical Association and the author of several books on Lincoln County\, NC history.\nThis program is sponsored by the Friends of the Transylvania County Library.  Contact Marcy Thompson at 828-884-1820 or marcy.thompson@transylvaniacounty.org for more information.
