The Elder Fraud Industry: Spotting and Reporting Scams

Join us for an elder law mini-series!  According to the FBI, scammers defraud seniors in the United States of billions every year. This presentation will examine why seniors may be especially vulnerable. We will discuss how to spot and avoid potential scams, how to keep yourself safe online, and what to do if you or someone you care about may be caught up in a scam.

Presented by Casey Steen.  Steen has been an attorney with Pisgah Legal Services since 2016. He is currently the director of Pisgah’s Elder Law Program, focused on protecting the legal rights of vulnerable seniors throughout Western North Carolina. Casey is a native of Transylvania County and attended law school at the University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill.
