Nominated for Best Picture by the African-American Film Critics Association (AAFCA), this film depicts the story of Emmett Till, who was murdered at the age of 14 while visiting family in Mississippi in 1955. His mother, Mamie Till Mobley, battled for justice on his behalf in the face of legal obstacles, intimidation and racial prejudice. Danielle Deadwyler won the AAFCA award for Best Actress, and the film won the 2023 Impact Award.
