Sponsored by NC Cooperative Extension and the Transylvania County Library, Living in the Mountains is a five-part educational series exploring the unique challenges and opportunities of living in the mountains of Western North Carolina.
Part Three: Planning & Planting for Erosion
Sooner or later, gravity catches up with everything, and that could include your soil if you’re not careful! Here in Transylvania County, soil is actually the major contaminant in our local rivers and streams, and there is something you can do about it! In this presentation we’ll talk about strategies to prevent soil erosion through landscaping, hardscaping, terracing and other strategies.
We hope you’ll join us for the remainder of the series:
- Part 4: Coping with Loss of Electricity • February 14 at 12:00 pm
- Part 5: Wildlife Control for Your Landscape • February 21 at 12:00 pm
These events will take place in person, in the Library’s Rogow Room. Can’t make it in person? Join the program via Zoom.
