The Transylvania County Library is offering an exploration of art for youth during the month of April. The programs are free, but registration is required for each program. Call the Kids & Teens desk or stop by the Library to sign up NOW as space is limited!

Celebrate friendship with us! You can knot or weave a bright colorful bracelet for yourself and your friends.

EVERYONE can do collage! It’s easy, versatile, and low cost. All you need to do is bring your creativity and learn the steps to make a multitude of beautiful art pieces.
Tuesday, April 16 – 4:00-5:00 pm – Beginning Clogging with Zia McConnell (Grades 3-12)
Clogging is a long-time dance tradition in the communities of the Southern Appalachian Mountains. It is a “melting pot” of percussive step dances from various cultures. We will be learning the basic steps of this fun “foot-stomping” mountain dancing.
Tuesday, April 23 – 4:00-5:00 pm – Sew Cute Monsters with Amanda Weaver (Grades 3-5)
Kids grades 3 to 5 can register to learn how to hand sew a stuffed monster out of felt. Participants will learn how to cut out a pattern, sew button eyes on, and add “growl” stuffing.
