The Noontime Notions: Science Series continues on April 30th. Dorothy Sulock will present “Nuclear Fission and Fusion”. The program will begin at noon in the Rogow Room at the Transylvania County Library. Noontime Notions programs feature authors, performers, and presenters providing engaging notions for consideration, enjoyment, and discovery. The program is made possible by the Friends of the Library and will last approximately one hour.
The program will provide an overview of nuclear fission and fusion, their applications and potential problems such as radioactivity, modern weapons and their relationship to climate change.
Dorothy Sulock taught for 40 years at UNC Asheville in the mathematics department, humanities program, international studies and the master of liberal arts and sciences program. Dot has taught a variety of courses at the College For Seniors related to achieving a sustainable planet, including several on renewable energy around the world.
