The Friends have an Annual Book Sale every October and maintain a Book Room year-round, and have an AMAZON Storefront.

The Friends of the Library is a 501©(3) non-profit membership organization.
Purpose: To maintain an association of persons interested in the Transylvania County Library.
Mission: To enhance and support library services by underwriting programs and events, publishing a newsletter and making special purchases to enhance library services.
Leadership: The elected officers of the FOL consist of the president, Alice Hardy; vice-president, Corey Gafnea; secretary, Tia Ramsey; and treasurer, Patrick Kennerly. These elected officers, the immediate past president of the FOL, Alice Wellborn; the Library Director, Anna Yount; the Adult Services Librarian, Lisa Sheffield and the chairmen of each Standing Committee, constitute the Board of Directors and manage the affairs of the association.
Resources: Financial resources are raised primarily through the book sale room, the annual fall book sale, and membership dues. Volunteers donate their time to promote and support the various programs and special events.
Membership: Individuals and family groups interested in the purposes of the association are invited to become members of the FOL. Members receive copies of the Library Herald newsletter and elect officers at the annual meeting. Membership dues are $15 annually. Click Here for a printable membership application form.
