Travel to space, Hands-On style! This astronaut training class includes learning about the environment of space, what takes to get there, and how astronauts live once in outer space. Astronauts in training will get a chance to taste test space food, participate in physical activities, launch paper rockets, and learn the components of a space suit.
This program is run by Hands On! Children’s Museum.
Registration is required and is open for kids in grades Kindergarten-5th grade. Register for this event by calling 828-884-3151 ext. 3 or by stopping by the Youth Services desk.

This program supports Explore Space: A Cosmic Journey, on display at the Transylvania County Library August 11-October 5, 2018. Explore Space: A Cosmic Journey, a traveling exhibition for libraries, is part of the STAR Library Education Network (STAR_Net) led by the National Center for Interactive Learning at the Space Science Institute. Exhibit partners include the American Library Association, the Lunar and Planetary Institute, and Afterschool Alliance. Explore Space is supported through a grant from the National Science Foundation.
