Professor and poet Ken Chamlee chronicles the high and low points of artist Albert Bierstadt’s life in a never-before-seen-way:through poetry. Chamlee’s new book, The Best Material for the Artist in the World, tracks the life and career of the iconic landscape artist, whose 19th-century representations of the American west earned him wealth and international acclaim. The presentation will include images and poetry from the book. Chamlee is Professor Emeritus of English at Brevard College and holds a Ph.D. from UNC Greensboro. More details soon!
