Noontime Notions EXTRA – How Brevard is becoming more Age Friendly

Help celebrate Older American’s month with Paula Hartman-Stein, Ph.D. and learn more about what our community is doing to enhance the lives of its older citizens and what the recent acceptance of Brevard as a member of the national network of Age-Friendly Communities under criteria established by AARP means for our community. Her presentation will describe the livability factors identified as priorities for the city and their new age-centric focus. Opportunities for involvement in the programs will be highlighted as well as the many ways intergenerational collaboration can improve the lives of older and younger Americans. Hartman-Stein is the Community Coordinator for the City Brevard Age-friendly Task Force, a Representative of Transylvania County to the NC Tar Heel Legislature and Co-leader of the Life-long learning committee, NC All Ages, All Stages multi-sector plan on aging.  A Noontime Notions EXTRA program.
