Part Five: Recreation for Older Adults
Transylvania County is a haven for outdoor recreational enthusiasts, but also offers a variety of programs available indoors designed for the over 50 population. Erin Massey, N.C. Cooperative Extension Family and Consumer Science Agent, will present recreational options for older adults, including hiking safely, accessible fly fishing and adjustments for comfort and safety in cycling for older adults. Expert speakers include Jane Dauster, Recreation Specialist from Dupont State Forest, Mitchell Wisniewski owner of Unalakleet River Lodge, and Wes Dickson with Sycamore Cycles.
