Living in the Mountains: Building a Home Emergency Kit

February 4 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

Sponsored by NC Cooperative Extension and the Transylvania County Library, Living in the Mountains is a five-part educational series exploring the unique challenges and opportunities of living in the mountains of Western North Carolina.

Part Four: Building a Home Emergency Kit

Are you ready for emergency situations?  Being prepared means having your own food, water, and other supplies to last for several days. Erin Massey, N.C. Cooperative Extension Family and Consumer Sciences Agent, will show you how to build a home emergency kit and stay prepared for power outages, flooding and other emergency situations. Learn these tips and more in Part 4 of our Living in the Mountains series.

We hope you’ll join us for the remainder of the series:

  • Part 5: Gardening and Growing Food in Mountain Soil  •  February 11 at 12:00 pm

These events will take place in the Library’s Rogow Room. An extension agent will be available afterwards to answer any additional questions.
