The Transylvania County Library and Transylvania Natural Resources Council will present Hidden Rivers of Southern Appalachia on Tuesday, July 16 at 6:00 pm in the Rogow Room at the Library. Lorie Stroup, Zone Fisheries Biologist with the Pisgah National Forest will give an introduction to the project and film.
Ten years in the making, Hidden Rivers is Freshwaters Illustrateds newest feature film that explores the rivers and streams of the Southern Appalachian region, North Americans most biologically rich waters. The one-hour film reveals both the beauty and vulnerability of aquatic life and follows the work of conservation biologists and explorers throughout the region. Hidden Rivers was created to inspire a deeper discussion about biodiversity and conservation needs in river ecosystems. The film highlights some of the ways people are finding to protect our valuable waterways.
