ecoEXPLORE Program: Botany Season

April 16 @ 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Join us for an educational program with The North Carolina Arboretum to learn all about the many different plants that call Western North Carolina their home. Ever wonder why some trees lose their leaves in the winter and others don’t? Or why almost all plants are green? At this program, we’ll answer these questions and more! We’ll also make DIY plant presses together, go on a a plant scavenger hunt, and venture outside to see what’s growing! Come ready to hear about the ecoEXPLORE program and find out what makes a plant a plant, how plants make their own food, where different plants can be found, and much more. This program is geared for ages 5 to 13.

Scientists need YOUR help in studying animals everywhere, including your own backyard! Join the crew of ecoEXPLORERS — kids who submit observations of plants and animals for scientists to study and earn prizes while they do it: https://www.ecoexplore.net/
