Learn about the creation of the City of Brevard from its earliest days, and how it grew into the mountain oasis we loved today with Historian of the City of Brevard, Mac Morrow.
Presenter Bio:
Mac Morrow grew up outside of Dunn’s Rock in Transylvania County, exploring the woods and waters of Western North Carolina. Morrow graduated from Christ School and Clemson University.
After college he headed the French Broad Clean-Up Department of Transylvania County and became the Public Relations Manager for the Ecusta Mill. He shifted to Personnel Manager at the same plant during the Glatfelter years and joined Keir Manufacturing in 1999 as General Manager and is still with them today. He has also served on the Brevard City Council from 1986-1995 and 2001-2025.
He and his wife Veronica Clayton Morrow have been married for 54 years and have lived in their historic East Main Street home Morrow Cottage nearly all that time as well.
