The Friends of the Transylvania County Library enhance and support library services by underwriting interesting and entertaining programs throughout the year, for people of all ages. From children’s summer reading and local history programs, to music concerts, exercise classes and more — the Friends enrich our community in many ways.
The Friends of the Transylvania County Library is a 501©(3) non-profit membership organization and donations are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law.
A significant portion of the funds raised by the Friends is generated through sales at The Second Story Book Store and during the group’s Annual Book Sale each October. Additionally, the Friends sell books on Amazon and eBay. Your book donations make these possible. These income streams bring in the money needed to fund all library programs for all ages.
Friends members receive the bi-monthly newsletter, At the Library, that is loaded with information about upcoming events and includes full calendars of special programs for kids, teens and adults.
Joining the Friends organization is a great way to show your support for the Transylvania County Library, for just $15.00 a year. It’s also an excellent opportunity to join the ranks of the many volunteers who support the Friends mission. Annual memberships provide an important source of funding for library programs and services.
