Paint and Plant: Micro-Pollinator Garden

May 23 @ 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Create your own micro-pollinator garden and learn all about the role of plants in the pollination process. Led by Transylvania County Cooperative Extension 4-H agent Sarah Holden and agriculture agent Bart Renner, participants will learn about the vital role that pollinators play in our everyday lives and how we can help them by providing a place to find food and water. Participants will paint a container and fill it with plants so that they can take home their very own customized micro-pollinator garden.

This program is for kids in grades K-6. Registration is required by stopping by the Youth Services desk or calling 828-884-3151 ext. 3.

The Transylvania County Library is part of the #PlantWildflowers Initiative supported by HHMI Tangled Bank Studios and PBS Nature. The Library will have programs for all ages focusing on pollinators and wildflowers in the months of April and May. Stop by the Library to check out a book from our curated display and pick up a packet of wildflower seeds and a bee ID card while supplies last.
