Summer Reading Program Registration begins on June 9th and ends August 23rd. Come to the Library to pick up your reading log and begin reading all through the summer to earn great prizes! We have three youth programs to choose from: Babies (birth-2 years), Kids (3-11), and Teens (12-18).

An after hours library experience for the entire family! Bring fort-building supplies like blankets and sheets, and pick your place in the Library to create a cozy place to read.Snack provided. It doesn’t matter which school you attend – private, public or homeschool. We want ideas and input from every part of Transylvania County to help make our teen services great! Teens ages 13-18 are invited to bring their smartphones, tablets, or other devices with a QR code reader to the Library during Teen Tech Week to participate in a QR code scavenger hunt. Learn about the Library’s print and digital offerings in this fun quest. Prizes will be given to those who finish the hunt. Drop-in any time March 5-10.

Building on the popularity of the community jigsaw puzzle, we're excited to announce our first puzzle competition. Community members are invited to gather a team of 2-4 people to test their speed and recognition of shapes and colors. Individual participants can be paired with teammates.
