SUMMARY:Teen Advisory Panel
DESCRIPTION:Make your voice heard! The library is currently accepting applications from teens ages 13-18 to become a Teen Advisory Panel member. It doesn’t matter which school you attend – private\, public or homeschool. We want ideas and input from every part of Transylvania County to help make our teen services great! We meet the 2nd Monday of every month at 5:30pm. \n\nWhat is the Teen Advisory Panel? \nThe Transylvania County Library Teen Advisory Panel (TAP) is made up of a group of dedicated teen volunteers (ages 13-18) who are interested in having a greater voice at their library. \nTAP members attend monthly panel meetings in order to share their ideas\, help to plan future events/services for teens\, give input on the materials the library should have for teens\, and work toward making the library a teen-friendly space in our community. In addition to idea sharing\, meetings are a great way to meet other students and find out about new young adult books. \nTAP members participate in library programs\, volunteer their time to work on special projects\, and help make sure that teen-focused events and programs at the library run smoothly. \nTAP members act as ambassadors for the library by getting their friends involved\, sharing information about upcoming library events with friends and teachers at school\, and bringing back input and suggestions from the community. \nWant to be a member? \nIf you are interested in participating in TAP contact us for an application form and submit it to the Youth Services desk or mail it to Teen Advisory Panel\, Transylvania County Library\, 212 South Gaston Street\, Brevard\, NC 28712.
