DESCRIPTION:George Goyette will present — The Eastland Disaster: America’s Forgotten Tragedy \nGoyette will reveal the harrowing details of the sinking of the SS Eastland in 1915 while moored in the Chicago River. With more loss of life than the sinking of the HMS Titanic a few years earlier\, the Eastland sank in only 20 feet of water. Presentation with historical photos. \nNoontime Notions programs are held one Tuesday each month at noon and will feature authors\, performers\, and presenters providing engaging notions for consideration\, enjoyment\, and discovery.  The program begins at 12 noon in the Rogow Room at the Transylvania County Library and is made possible by the Friends of the Library.
