Noontime Notions – Just For Laughs

The Noontime Notions series continues.  The program will begin at noon in the Rogow Room at the Transylvania County Library. Noontime Notions programs feature authors, performers, and presenters providing engaging notions for consideration, enjoyment, and discovery.   The program is made possible by the Friends of the Library and will last approximately one hour.

We all need something to smile about. Ron Schon’s presentation “Just For Laughs” will  feature behind-the-scenes stories and video clips of many iconic funny men and women like Carol Burnett, Bob Newhart and Jackie Gleason. He will also spotlight performances by new talented stand-up performers whose names may not be as familiar. Schon retired from a 30-plus year career in broadcasting and advertising. Since 2015, he has been a frequent teacher of courses on popular history at UNCA’s Osher Lifelong Learning Institute in Asheville.
