“It All Starts with Bacon – Two Foodie Photographers’ View of America’s Southern Appalachian Mountains”. Presented by Janet Garrity Saucier and Les Saucier, who are both professional photographers, educators, and authors of the book Mountain Blue, the Beauty and Grandeur of America’s Southern Appalachian Mountains. During the program they will share their photos, points of interest about the mountains and some of the best locations to view “the gifts” received from “our mountains.” Copies of their book will be available for sale and signing following the program. The couple’s book Mountain Blue is a celebration of the beauty and a tribute to the Blue Ridge, the Smokies, the culture, and the biodiversity found only in the Southern Appalachian Mountains. “We wanted to share our vision of what it’s like to be in this special place,” said Les Saucier. “There’s no where else on earth like it. As photographers, in order to celebrate their beauty, one has to show up. Meaning that on some days, we’re eating bacon way before the sun comes up. That’s what it takes at times to really witness the wonders of these mountains.”
