SUMMARY:Cancelled - Literary Pumpkins
DESCRIPTION:As of October 4\, 2024\, all library programming is suspended until further notice.\nAll Ages! Decorate your literary pumpkin at home and bring it to the Library to be on display! Pumpkins will be on display from Monday\, October 7 to Wednesday\, October 16 as they arrive. \nLiterary Pumpkin Decorating Guidelines: \nYour pumpkin can look like your favorite book character or resemble a literary theme from a book\, such as your favorite scene or quote. Get creative! \nPumpkins can be real or faux. If using a real pumpkin – carved\, cut\, or pierced pumpkins will NOT be accepted or will be discarded. Pumpkins must be decorated without carving\, cutting\, or poking holes. Include a plate or tray to catch any drips. \nFor decorating\, acrylic paints or permanent markers work best. Spray paint can lead to rotten pumpkins. Yarn\, construction paper\, cloth\, wigs\, tape\, paste\, or glue can be used. \nDrop off your pumpkin between Monday\, October 7 and Saturday\, October 12. The sooner you drop off your pumpkin\, the longer it will be on display in the Library. Visit the Kids & Teens desk to get your name card and be entered into a drawing for a $25 VISA gift card! \nAll pumpkins must be picked up between Thursday\, October 17 and Saturday\, October 19. \nFor more information\, call the Kids & Teens desk at 828-884-3151 ext. 3 or email youth.services@transylvaniacounty.org.
