DESCRIPTION:THIS EVENT IS A SELLOUT! Doors will open at 5:30 instead of 6:00.  Contact the Library at 884-3151 ext. 2 to see if any sold tickets have been returned.  Author and historian Jon Meacham will be the 2017 J.R. McDowell Speaker to be held at the Porter Center for Performing Arts at Brevard College discussing his book   General admission tickets will be on sale at the Library beginning in late August..  The program will be begin at 6:30 p.m. and doors to Scott Auditorium at the Porter Center will open at 5:30 p.m.  Book signing will follow the program and Highland Books will be on hand with books for sale and signing.  The program is made possible by the Transylvania County Library Foundation in partnership with Brevard College.
