SUMMARY:Flying High...Memoir of a 30-year Adventure
DESCRIPTION:Retired Air Force Colonel Richard G. “Duke” Woodhull\, Jr.\, will discuss his military career during the Cold War years on Tuesday\, May 2 at 6:30 pm.  Woodhull is a long time Transylvania County resident and author of the book\, Flying High…Memoir of a 30-Year Adventure.  The presentation will include Woodhull’s first-hand account of the Cuban Missile Crisis as a jet tanker pilot\, his service as pilot of the high altitude strategic reconnaissance U-2 aircraft\, and subsequent diplomatic and intelligence-gathering assignments. Finally\, the presentation will include some personal observations about service in the armed forces. \nThis program have been made possible through a collaboration of the Friends of the Library and the Transylvania Heritage Museum and is free and open to the public.  Light refreshments will be provided by the Friends of the Library. \n
