DESCRIPTION:EARTHour is an invitation to young environmental warriors who wish to grow their green superpowers! In this four-part series\, we’ll call upon bees\, trees\, and gardening knees as we read and share information about protecting the environment. \nThese programs are for rising 1st through rising 5th graders. Registration is required. Sign up for one or sign up for all by calling the Kids & Teens desk at 828-884-3151 ext. 3. \nFriday\, June 28 at 11:00 am – 12:00 pm\nTree Walk\nExpress your love of trees\, play a game to see how they grow\, and join us for a fun tree walk. \nThese programs are taught by Sarah Baldwin who has taught at Brevard Elementary School for over twenty years. She holds a Masters degree and National Board Certification. She’s currently working on her NC Environmental Certification. Her favorite bird is the Carolina wren. \n\nOther programs in the EARTHour series: \nFriday\, June 14 at 11:00 am – 12:00 pm\nMission: Impossible Garden\nInvestigate how plants transform from seeds to sprouts to fruits we enjoy. Everyone can be a gardener\, and today it will be you! \nFriday\, July 12 at 11:00 am – 12:00 pm\nReduce\, Reuse\, Recycle\, Make ART!\nPlay a game to explore the balance of living and nonliving things within a forest. Learn ways we can create a greener world\, including making art from recyclables and natural materials. \nFriday\, July 26 at 11:00 am – 12:00 pm\nBee Olympics\nIn honor of the 2024 Summer Olympics\, participate in relay games to exercise your body and mind as bee facts are revealed. As a bonus\, earn a sweet prize!
