Adventure Travel Photography — “All photographers ‘chase’ the light. It is just what we do,” says Crebbin. “But I love going all over the world to do it.” This presentation will take the audience into the spectacular light of Galapagos, Yellowstone, Costa Rica, India and Iceland. Jo is not a stranger to the library, having presented her Polar Bears and Jaguar experiences in 2017 and Antarctica in 2015. Wildlife is a huge passion for Crebbin who hopes that her images will help viewers to appreciate the animals more and help with their conservation. We will see the blue footed booby of Galapagos, wolves of Yellowstone, and exotic birds from Costa Rica. Scenery will highlight the show with snow scenes from the National Park as well as frozen waterfalls and the Northern Lights of Iceland. Jo’s travels also took her to India this year and the stories of the culture along with the color and pageantry of the country will highlight the lunchtime performance. Many of the images will again be presented with movement and music.
Jo developed her love of capturing images working in the field of broadcast television where she won hundreds of awards for creative excellence, editing and videography including two national awards for the Arts and Entertainment (A&E) network. Her work has been seen on CNN, CBS, ABC, Inside Edition and PBS. Recently she won the Best in Black and White Imagery for the Florida Camera Council. Her “Leopard sleeps in a Tree “ won the top honors for the NANPA (National Association of Nature Photographers) 2013 competition. One of her Antarctica images won the Florida Camera Club’s top honors in 2014 and 2015.
In 2001, Jo retired from the business of creating TV images in order to focus on field of digital photography and formed Jo Crebbin Photography. She is presently a supplier for five digital stock photography companies, a photography lecturer, as well as exhibiting her photography in local galleries in North Carolina and Florida. Jo is married to Dean Crebbin, a retired advertising executive and divides her residency between Pisgah Forest, NC and Englewood, Florida.
