SUMMARY:Cancelled -- Bag Lunch Arts - Grandma Gatewood: A Character Portrayal
DESCRIPTION:This program has been cancelled but we will work to reschedule this summer if possible! \nActress Anne Van Curen transforms into Emma “Grandma” Gatewood to describe what it was like to be the first woman to solo hike the Appalachian Trail in 1955. The dramatization is based off of the book “Gradma Gatewood’s Walk”\, which was written from accounts of Gatewood’s surviving family members\, newspaper magazine articles and her own diaries and trail journals.  This program is also our National Library Week Celebration.  Join us! \nFor a complete list of upcoming scheduled Bag Lunch programs click here. \nOur monthly Bag Lunch Arts Series spotlights authors\, artists\, performers\, and speakers sharing their talent and knowledge. Held on the third Tuesday of most months at 12 noon in the Rogow Family Community Room. Patrons are encouraged to bring along a bag lunch to enjoy before the program. Cookies and coffee are courtesy of the Friends of the Library. Programs last approximately one hour.
