DESCRIPTION:“The Effects of Light Pollution on Wildlife”\nwith Pam Torlina of Conserving Carolina\nThursday\, December 3\n6-7 pm\nRogow Room \nLearn why we need to protect the night sky if we are to conserve biodiversity in our natural world. Biologist Pam Torlina will focus on the negative effects of light pollution on amphibians\, birds\, mammals\, and insects\, and also outline the simple steps we can all take to reduce light pollution. \nTorlina received her Bachelor of Science degree in biology from the University of South Carolina Upstate and has been working with the Conservancy for nearly 18 years. She has more than 30 years of experience as a field biologist\, naturalist\, and outdoor educator. She has worked with the South Carolina State Park Service\, the City of Greenville Parks and Recreation-Youth Bureau\, the New York State Office of Parks and Recreation and Historic Preservation\, and Haliburton Forest and Wild Life Reserve\, in Haliburton\, Ontario\, Canada.
