DESCRIPTION:“Historic Inns of Lake Toxaway – Watch & Discuss”\nwith John Nichols III & Dan Johnson of the Historic Toxaway Foundation\nThursday\, June 5\n6-7:30 pm\nRogow Room \nJoin Historic Toxaway Foundation members John Nichols III & Dan Johnson as we view two short documentary films (about 30 minutes each) with discussion time after each. \nFilms to be shown: \n\nThe Toxaway Inn Era – about Lake Toxaway in the early 20th century\nThe Greystone Inn: A Toxaway Living Legacy – about the home turned lodgings that Lucy Armstrong Moltz built on Lake Toxaway\n\n  \nAbout the Presenters: \nJohn and Dan have combined their history knowledge and filmmaking know-how to capture these and many other stories in a visually appealing and engaging way. \nJohn Nichols III \nJohn Nichols was born in Lake Toxaway to the late Isabel and John Nichols\, and is the grandson of Isabel and Reg Heinitsh Sr\, Reg being one of the pioneer developers in this beautiful area. He is the founder of The Nichols Company\, Inc. a commercial real estate firm in Charlotte\, NC\, and has over thirty years of experience in real estate development. John is currently renovating a number of historic buildings in Brevard and Lake Toxaway. \nDan Johnson \nFilmmaker and media creative Dan Johnson travels the world telling compelling stories of the human experience. He is committed to using the motion picture medium to effectively inform\, influence\, and inspire viewers. He is the winner of 24 Emmy Awards from the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences\, Southeast Region\, including 3 Emmy Awards for Best Director and 3 Best Documentary Emmys\, 3 Investigative Reporting Emmys\, Youth Program Emmys\, and Emmys for Writing\, Photography\, and Editing. \nHistoric Toxaway Foundation \nThe Historic Toxaway Foundation is a nonprofit dedicated to Lake Toxaway area conservation\, tourism\, historic preservation\, workforce housing\, and education. \n
