Library cards can only be issued in person at the Transylvania County Library.  Library cards are available free of charge to anyone who lives, works, attends school or owns property in Transylvania County.  Others may purchase a non-resident borrower’s card for $20 per year.  A valid picture identification card with current mailing address is required in order to receive a library card.  A parent or guardian must be present for a child under 14 to be issued a card.

There is no charge for first replacement of a lost or damaged library card.  Subsequent lost cards can be replaced for $2.  To get your replacement card, bring a valid picture identification card with your current mailing address to the Library’s Circulation Desk.

You must present your library card each time you check out material.
