The Planets

Build a model of the solar system together with scientists from Pisgah Astronomical Research Institute (PARI). Visit each planet for a size and scale comparison and learn an interesting fact or two about our planetary neighbors.
This event is for children ages 9 and up. Registration is required.  Stop by or call the Youth Services desk at 828-884-3151 ext. 3.

This program supports Explore Space: A Cosmic Journey, on display at the Transylvania County Library August 11-October 5, 2018. Explore Space: A Cosmic Journey, a traveling exhibition for libraries, is part of the STAR Library Education Network (STAR_Net) led by the National Center for Interactive Learning at the Space Science Institute. Exhibit partners include the American Library Association, the Lunar and Planetary Institute, and Afterschool Alliance. Explore Space is supported through a grant from the National Science Foundation.
