November’s Bag Lunch features Looking Glass Playhouse and their performance of Circle Mirror Transformation, by Pulitzer prize winning playwright Annie Baker The action of the play takes place in a small town community center. During a six week acting class the five characters’ inner lives are revealed through a series of theatre games. Looking Glass Playhouse is a small acting company based in Brevard, NC dedicated to performing a wide range of work – from the newest, young playwrights to the classics. The company is comprised of some the area’s favorite performers including Mark, Sandi and Andy Thompson, Amy Shute and others. Claudia Carter Covington is the founding member of the group. She acted professionally and served as literary manager for Charlotte Repertory Theatre for 20 years before moving to Brevard.

Our monthly Bag Lunch Arts Series spotlights authors, artists, performers, and speakers sharing their talent and knowledge. Held on the third Tuesday of most months at 12 noon in the Rogow Family Community Room. Patrons are encouraged to bring along a bag lunch to enjoy before the program. Cookies and coffee are courtesy of the Friends of the Library. Programs last approximately one hour.
