About the Fiction Workshop…

As Studs Terkel used to say, “Nothin’ ever happened nowhere.” Whether it’s the streets of Manhattan or the wilds of Wyoming, place touches the totality in the writing, informing the people, plot, pace and poetry of anything worth reading. We don’t need to know everything about a place, but we need to know what we need to know to provide a sensibility that speaks to the reader and an honesty that compels the writing.
