Children’s Services Mission Statement

The Children’s Services Department of the Transylvania County Library exists to provide

the highest level of services and programming to the children of Transylvania County ages 0 – 12 and their families,

as well as to offer resources and support to the educators and caregivers who directly influence these children.

It is designed to meet the educational and recreational reading and informational needs of children of all ages.

Story Time for Children ages 5 & Under

Stories, Songs, Rhymes and Crafts

 

 

 

Fun, laughter, stories, songs, puppets & more

in the Freeman Story Time Room

Storytimes are scheduled in 4 -8 week sessions

throughout the year, and some special holiday storytimes 

are scheduled individually during the off months. 

 

FALL/WINTER 2008 Schedule

December 16 Holiday Storytime

 

Books & Babies

A fun-filled program for babies ages 4-12 months using music, books, rhymes and more. Parents learn tips on combining language, movement, and touch for important early brain development.

Story Times for Child Care Groups

 

Preschools and Child Care Centers in Transylvania County may call to schedule monthly storytime visits to the library, or arrange for Outreach visits to the centers when transportation to the library is not possible.
