Online Request Form

Interlibrary Loan (ILL) services are available for Transylvania County Library cardholders in good standing. There is a small fee (postage one way) for materials -- normally $2.00 to $5.00. This fee is due when the item is picked up at the Circulation Desk.

For journal articles, please include in your ILL request how much you are willing to pay in photocopying fees in order to receive the material. These fees are charged by the lending library. As a general rule, medical articles will cost $10.00 to $15.00. Total cost varies for other types of articles.

PLEASE NOTE: ILL is only available for items the library does NOT own.

In order to fill your request, we require the following information.

    1. Title of Book
    2. Author of Book
    3. Publisher, if known
    4. Publication date, if known
    5. ISBN, if known

    For Journal Articles

    1. Title of Periodical
    2. Title of Article
    3. Author
    4. Date
    5. Volume
    6. Page Numbers
    7. Maximum charges for photocopying that you are willing to pay

          For Audio Visual Material - For popular feature films please check the local video store first.

    ILL requests may be submitted in person, by phone, via email or through the online form above. Printed forms are available from any staff member when submitting a request in person. Certain information is always REQUIRED for ALL Interlibrary Loan requests.  ILL privileges may be revoked by the ILL librarian at any time.

    To submit a request by phone, simply call the Library at 884-3151, ext. 242 and give the Library staff member the information listed above.
