Friends Support the Library

The mission of the Friends of the Library is to enhance and support library services by underwriting interesting and entertaining programs throughout the year – from children’s summer reading and local history programs, to music concerts and special bag lunch events. Money raised by the Friends enriches our community in many ways.

A significant portion of the funds raised by the Friends is generated through sales at The Second Story Book Store and during the group’s Annual Book Sale each October. Additionally, the Friends sell books on Amazon.  Your book donations make these possible.  These income streams bring in the money needed to fund all library programs for all ages.

Become a Friend

Joining the Friends organization is a great way to show your support for the Transylvania County Library, for just $15.00 a year.  It’s also an excellent opportunity to join the ranks of the many volunteers who support the Friends mission. Annual memberships provide an important source of funding for library programs and services.

Prefer to pay with cash or a check? Mail or drop off a membership form at the library.

At the Library Newsletter

The Friends of the Library is a 501©(3) non-profit membership organization and donations are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law. Find out more by reading the Friends of the Library bylaws.
